Windy with a high of 53 on Friday in the Triad

PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — A strong line and showers moved through early this morning and left behind a few lingering showers with temperatures in the upper 40s and low 50s. By 8 a.m., at the latest, the rain will be out of here, and we’ll see skies clearing the rest of the morning. Plenty of sunshine for our Friday, but once the rain is out, our winds will begin to pick up.

A wind advisory is in place for the foothills and a high wind warning has been issued for Alleghany County. Winds will be generally between 15 and 25 mph with wind gusts for the majority of the Piedmont Triad up to 45 mph. However, Alleghany County will see wind gusts up to 60 mph possible. Afternoon temperatures will be in the low 50s and the wind will make it feel like the 40s.

Sunshine sticks around for the weekend with morning lows on Saturday in the upper 20s. Afternoon highs reach the low to mid 50s. Winds will also be significantly lighter than on Friday. Mostly sunny skies on Sunday with morning lows in the mid 30s and highs reaching the mid 50s…
