Alabama’s AHSAA exploring possible private/public split for championships

The voices have gotten louder from administrators, coaches and fans alike when it comes to public and private schools competing against one another from a athletic championships competition standpoint. One state is exploring the option of splitting them up once the postseason rolls around is that of Alabama.

According toa report by the Montgomery Advertiser, the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) has looked into the possibilities of splitting up private and public schools when it comes to postseason championship competition.

Per the report, the AHSAA have looked into an option that would place all private schools in their own postseason bracket, removing them from playing public schools in the playoffs. The Montgomery-based association has moved its reclassification meeting back a month as they continue to research the possibility of separating private and public schools come state series championships competition time…
