Series of earthquakes shake San Ramon Saturday night, adding to active year for swarms

A trio of earthquakes hit the San Ramon region Saturday night after the East Bay area experienced a jarring Friday night that saw at least 18 earthquakes shake the region, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

Saturday saw a 3.9 magnitude earthquake in the San Ramon area strike at around 6:30 p.m., followed by 2.8 and a 3.0 magnitude earthquakes shortly after. Friday night, at least 18 quakes shook the area, ranging from 4.0 in strength to 1.4.
