VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A man who works at a popular Virginia Beach restaurant helped rescue a person from his car after it landed on a boat and in the water at the Lynnhaven Marina Friday evening, police said.
Police said the man, who 10 On Your Side has identified as Danny Deitrich, observed a vehicle go into the water, but did not see anyone get out of it. Deitrich and police said he was able to get the driver out of the water and get the man to land safely.
Deitrich, who works at Chick’s Oyster Bar next to where the incident is said to have happened, said the car drove into the dock and landed on a boat and in the water. Detri said he heard it happen and came over to help the man who was driving the car. He said he helped that man out of the vehicle, even cutting his seatbelt to get him out…
