The Beginning of Neil Lynch’s Santa Tradition
Neil Lynch and his wife Sue were blessed with a granddaughter back in 2020. As we can all recall, that year was unlike any other. With their grandbaby’s first Christmas approaching, Neil realized that a visit to Santa at the local mall wasn’t an option.
Lynch borrowed a Santa suit and decided to bring his grandchild some holiday magic. This is where it all started for him. He didn’t just stop at creating joy for his family. Why not spread cheer to the many people who couldn’t head to the mall for a visit with Santa?
Lynch decided to head to the Sakonnet River Bridge, which many of us have driven across, to bring joy to passing drivers. While he brings smiles to many, Lynch found joy in the act itself.
The Joy of Bringing Smiles to Drivers
This will be his fifth year throwing on the Santa suit and dancing along the bridge. He is typically there first thing in the morning, around 7 a.m., to catch commuters, and is planning on making another appearance the Monday before Christmas, before he has to head back to the North Pole to get ready for the big day.
