ZACHARY, La. (Louisiana First) — Ebony Walker said she’s dreamed of building and owning a home. A Google search led to D.R. Horton, and it seemed the dream was coming true. She said the dream has turned into a nightmare because of mold and a lack of help from the company.
“It’s very depressing,” Walker said. “It’s overwhelming. I’m anxious all the time.”
Walker testified against D.R. Horton earlier this month in an ongoing lawsuit against the company. Homeowners claim the company’s building practices are not suitable for the Louisiana climate and lead to unsafe living conditions.
