DES MOINES, Iowa — The ARL of Iowa says more than 30 cats were rescued from a central Iowa home Thursday.
The ARL of Iowa says rescue staff were called to assist the Johnston Police Department Wednesday with dozens of cats found in a single home.
On Thursday, the ARL worked with authorities and removed 33 cats from the home. Many of the cats were suffering from upper respiratory infections, with several also having fleas and dental issues that may require surgery. The ARL says some have ear mites so severe many have open wounds behind their ears from scratching.
All of the cats are now in the care of the ARL of Iowa and are receiving treatment…
