RICHMOND, Texas — If you’re planning to drive on I-69 Southwest Freeway in Fort Bend County next weekend, you might want to find another route. The Texas Department of Transportation is closing multiple lanes nightly in both directions for three days starting the evening of Friday, Dec. 19.
TxDOT crews will shut down two southbound mainlanes and three northbound mainlanes on I-69 from University Boulevard to Greatwood Parkway beginning at 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19, through 5 a.m. Monday, Dec. 22.
The closures are part of a $53 million construction project that’s been underway to extend the I-69 mainlane and frontage road bridges in both directions by about 1,000 feet to the north. Crews will also permanently remove the damaged turnaround under the bridge…
