Local conservation and wildlife photographer Deena Sveinsson had her photograph, “The Fast and the Furriest,” selected as the first place winner in the 2025 National Wildlife Photo Contest in the Mammals category.
The annual contest, now in its 54th year, received nearly 30,000 submissions from more than 3,200 photographers across the United Sataes and around the world. The winning images highlight the diversity and majesty of wildlife, plants and landscapes from across the globe.
