HONOLULU (KHON2) — Pearl Harbor survivor Ira ‘Ike’ Schab has died at the age of 105.
WWII Navy veteran Ira ‘Ike’ Schab, one of last remaining Pearl Harbor survivors, dies at 105
Pacific Historic Parks says Schab was 21 years old when Pearl Harbor was attacked on Dec. 7, 1941.
On that day, the Navy band musician was aboard the U.S.S. Dobbin, providing ammunition.
Schab was among several survivors who made it to Pearl Harbor National Memorial last year for the 83rd Commemoration of the attack. He was unable to attend the 84th commemoration this year, due to his health conditions.
