Kaiser Permanente Awards Funds to CAPK to Support Food Access

Kaiser Permanente has awarded a $60,000 grant to Community Action Partnership of Kern (CAPK) to help address food insecurity for families across Kern County.

The funding will enable CAPK to purchase more than 80,000 pounds of food for underserved residents grappling with ongoing economic pressure and rising food costs.

“Kaiser Permanente’s $60,000 donation is a powerful commitment to the health and well-being of our community,” said CAPK Food Bank Director Kelly Lowery. “This support will help us provide roughly 180,000 meals, directly addressing food insecurity while reinforcing the connection between nutrition and overall health.”…
