A major section of the Augusta Canal Towpath reopened Friday after being closed for more than a year following damage from Hurricane Helene.
As people return to the popular trail, many say they’re excited to be back—despite visible changes left behind by the storm. The towpath is a favorite destination for runners, walkers, and cyclists across the CSRA.
