Fire causes $690K in losses at southwest Charlotte manufacturing facility

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte Fire reports that a blaze that broke out early Saturday morning dealt heavy damage to a manufacturing facility.

Crews responded to the two-alarm fire around 2 a.m. along Westinghouse Boulevard near Goodrich Drive with smoke showing. 60 firefighters were able to get the flames under control within 48 minutes. No firefighters or citizens were harmed.

Investigators later determined the fire was unintentional and came from a manufacturing machine. Charlotte Fire estimated losses of around $690,000…
