GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — A Gwinnett County elementary school went into a soft lockdown on Friday morning after a body was found near the building, an incident the principal described as “unsettling” in a letter to parents, but that Gwinnett Police said does not warrant a criminal investigation at this time.
It happened at Centerville Elementary School. The letter from Principal Bonita Banks to parents said school resource officers and GCPD “responded immediately” to the situation, which was reported by the school groundskeeper.
