DETROIT – A street sign honoring the founder of a beloved restaurant in Detroit’s Corktown neighborhood was unveiled Friday.
At about 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 19, friends, family members and colleagues joined city leaders for an unveiling ceremony for a secondary street sign honoring Greg Mudge, the founder of Mudgie’s Deli & Wine Shop.
“I am honored to be here to help be a part of this process,” Detroit Councilwoman Gabriela Santiago-Romero said during the ceremony. “It was hard, it took years of organizing, but we did it. As a community, we were able to gather over 170 letters of support. People came in and made public comments consistently.”…
