SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — Winter officially begins Sunday morning, but the forecast is feeling much warmer than the new season.
Saturday brought a very cold start with temperatures in the 30s. This gave way to a sunny and mild afternoon with highs in the 60s. Other than a few more clouds, Sunday will feature a milder day with a chilly morning and a warmer afternoon. Winter officially begins at 10:03 a.m. EST, signaling the moment Earth is tilted furthest away from the Northern Hemisphere.
A weak cold front moves through the region by Sunday evening, bringing a temporary cool-down for the start of the week. Monday will be the lone cool day we can expect next week thanks to northeasterly winds. Highs will manage to reach the upper 50s for most of the area. Outside of another chilly start on Tuesday, warmth builds back in for the rest of the week.
Christmas Eve and Christmas Day will have highs in the 70s under mainly sunny skies. It will be dry the entire week with no rain chances in the seven-day forecast…
