Water authority urges people to use less water in 6 Central NY towns after major break

Syracuse, N.Y. — The Onondaga County Water Authority is urging customers in six towns to conserve water after a major break in a large-diameter transmission main, officials said Saturday.

The damaged 42-inch pipe carries Lake Ontario water from a pump station in Clay to reservoirs that serve the eastern half of OCWA’s system, officials said in a news release.
