Firefighters battle extreme wind and cold to put out Rockford house fire

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Twenty-four firefighters responded to a blaze around 11 p.m. Saturday night, battling extreme wind and cold temperatures to extinguish a house fire that started in a basement and caused $75,000 worth of damage.

According to the Rockford Fire Department, crews were called to the 2000 block of Hulin Street and found heavy smoke coming from the residence.
