ST. LOUIS — A police chase that began in Illinois ended in a deadly crash on Interstate 70 in north St. Louis on Sunday. Police say the crash happened on I-70 westbound near West Florissant Avenue. Police have identified the woman who died as 29-year-old Precious Black.
A Fairmounty City, Illinois officer attempted to stop a Nissan vehicle for speed violations. He tried to get Black out of the vehicle but was unsuccessful. A representative Metropolitan St. Louis Police Department says that the officer was dragged during the incident.
The woman in the Nissan vehicle sped off and the officer started to chase the vehicle. The pursuit ended in the city of St. Louis.
