CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – The Virginia Department of Transportation is lifting many lane closures across the state during peak holiday travel periods to help ease congestion and keep traffic moving.
VDOT is suspending most highway work zones and temporary lane closures on interstates and other major roads from noon December 24 through noon December 26, and again from noon December 31 through noon January 2. The changes are aimed at reducing delays during some of the busiest travel days of the season.
