Volunteers at local American Legion Post pack 70 holiday food baskets

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Volunteers at the American Legion Post 776 packed Christmas boxes this Saturday for the local community, including veterans, National Guard members / active duty members.

Organizers said the program has run for over 40 years. This year, 70 people received the baskets, which each have enough food to feed a family of four for a week.

“Alongside ongoing efforts to support the community, this initiative reflects the sustained commitment of veterans and community volunteers to service above self. Throughout the year, these individuals dedicate their time and resources to ensuring the continued effectiveness of this program,” wrote treasurer Carol T. Robinson.
