First responders and trucks to bring cheer to Dayton Children’s Hospital

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The Dayton Operation Santa Sleigh and North Dayton Truck Service’s Christmas Eve Truck Service is coming soon for patients spending the holidays in Dayton Children’s Hospital.

Operation Santa Sleigh

On Tuesday, Dec. 23, first responders will drive their vehicles with the emergency lights on in a parade for the patients for the 7th annual Operation Santa Sleigh.

The Operation Santa Sleigh event will happen simultaneously in nine different cities throughout the Miami Valley and beyond. Hundreds of first responders will visit multiple Children’s Medical Centers, Veterans’ Hospitals and Veterans Homes.

Agencies involved include:

  • Montgomery County Law Enforcement Officer Memorial Association
  • Montgomery County Association of Police Chiefs
  • International Association of Fire Fighters

There will be a 5:30 p.m. assembly at Dayton Children’s Innovation Center and a 6:30 p.m. departure. Mr. Santa Claus himself will be present for the procession to help law enforcement spread cheer. People are encouraged to greet Santa and the first responders as they drive past…
