Expect above-normal temperatures this week in the Piedmont Triad

PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — Today may have been the Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year and official start of winter, but temperatures have been a bit warmer than what we saw earlier this week. Temperatures are trending into the 40s this evening.

When you wake up tomorrow, you’ll want to grab a coat before heading out the door. We’ll see morning lows in the upper 20s. Afternoon highs will reach the upper 40s with mostly sunny skies.

Clouds return Monday night into Tuesday morning as a warm front lifts in, which also has the potential to spark a few showers. However, the chance for rain Tuesday is very low due to a layer of dry air limiting what is able to fall. Temperatures will be in the mid-30s on Tuesday morning. Thanks to the warm front, temperatures will be in the low 60s by the afternoon. Skies will also clear in the second half of the day…
