A police dog working for the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office won the “fan favorite” honor at the recent fourth annual Law Enforcement K-9 Competition.
K-9 Bane, with partner Eric Begala, was the most popular, as voted by the 1,700 or so people in the crowd at Bishop Kenny High School in Jacksonville.
Sixteen K-9 teams from across Florida and Alabama competed in the event sponsored by Jacksonville-based nonprofit K9s United, which provides equipment and advanced training for K-9 units and advocates for their welfare. Overall top dog was K-9 Stern “Taco” of the Gainesville Police Department…
