Multiple people brought to hospital following Murfreesboro crash

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) — A multi-vehicle crash in Murfreesboro Sunday afternoon led to injuries and road closures, according to authorities.

The Murfreesboro Police Department announced shortly after 3:15 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 21 that Armstrong Valley Road and inbound Veterans Parkway toward Church Street were blocked because of the incident. Motorists were encouraged to use an alternate route in order to avoid the expected delays from this crash.

About three hours after posting about the crash, law enforcement reported the intersection of Veterans Parkway and Armstrong Valley Road had reopened.

MPD initially said three people were brought to the hospital via helicopter. However, according to the Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department‘s 9:25 p.m. Facebook post, “Two patients were transported to the hospital by helicopter, and others were taken by RCEMS ground ambulance. One patient had to be extricated by Engine 10’s crew and transported for further care.”
