“I just saw the letters from people opposing the proposed new Home Depot on State Road 200 at On Top of the World. I agree. I have heard rumors for quite some time now that we in NE Ocala were getting a new Home Depot but nothing ever materialized. At one time in was going to be located somewhere across from Dairy Queen in Silver Springs several years ago. Then more recently there was talk of it going in the center where the old Albertsons in the old Searstown shopping center is located. And since they’ve ruined State Road 200 with that 3rd “skinny” lane I really want this to happen. Then I’d have no reason to travel on SR 200 except at Christmas time.” – Jennie Howell, Ocala
“One has to wonder if the Home Depot is being put outside OTOW as spite or a payback for the residents banding against the apartment complex. It is the land owners right to develops as he sees fit…but he doesn’t live here. He seems to want to fill every bit of grass with cookie cutter houses and concrete in any form. His Dad is probably rolling over in his grave because this developer and the county commissioners are hell bent on making money without any concern for aesthetics, safety, traffic concerns, or the quality of life in the southwest area of Ocala.” – Lynn Hoelzer, Ocala…
