By Sara Beth Williams– — At least one dozen businesses have closed inside Sunrise Mall over the course of the last 12 months, including both independent businesses and national chains.
Stores closed for various reasons according to store owners and business representatives, including bankruptcy, lack of foot traffic, corporate decisions, and relocation to other commercial districts such as Folsom Premium Outlets.
Macy’s: The longtime anchor of Sunrise Mall closed both its Men’s and Women’s stores in March, leaving JCPenney as the only national anchor within the mall. The retail giant’s closure due to bankruptcy has resulted in less foot traffic and exasperated the situation for multiple other businesses…
