WASHINGTON, Va. (WAVY) — U.S. Sens. Mark R. Warner and Tim Kaine (both D-Va.) announced that a lease has been awarded for a new Department of Veterans Affairs outpatient clinic in Hampton Roads, a move they say will expand access to care for the region’s growing veteran population.
“This facility will fill a critical gap by providing high-quality, convenient care for veterans who have served our country,” the senators said in a joint statement. They added that they will work to ensure the clinic is properly staffed despite the Trump administration’s plan to cut 35,000 VA health care positions nationwide.
