Caregivers shop for clients as OhioGuidestone hosts second annual holiday shop

When parents can’t afford a Christmas gift, it isn’t just a missed present — it’s also a heartbreak that can feel like they’re letting their child down.

“One mother in particular, she has three children. She is a hard worker, and she just does not have much, if any, family support. Her kids are in school, early child care settings, and there’s emotional behavioral concerns that often take away from her ability to go to work, which definitely puts a strain on the financial aspect of things,” said Saylor Shull, an early childhood mental health therapist at OhioGuidestone in Toledo.
