You never know what kind of delivery DoorDash is going to send you on in Amarillo. Recently, there was one that, as I accepted it, seemed ok. It wanted me to pick up from two different restaurants that were not far from each other and then deliver them to the customer.
This seemed pretty straightforward. I picked up a drink from Water Still on Georgia Street. Then I was supposed to go to Jimmy’s Egg to pick up the customer’s food. I drove to the one on Georgia Street. That is the one I thought I was supposed to be at.

When I clicked on that, I arrived at the restaurant. I got the notification that it seemed I was too far from the restaurant. To be honest, I didn’t even realize there was another location. I always pick up from the one on Georgia Street.

So that is when I realized my pickup was from the Jimmy’s Egg on Soncy. I have never picked up from there. I started my journey to Soncy Street. When I approached Jimmy’s Egg, and I clicked that I arrived at the store, I noticed something that made me want to scratch my head.
I looked over and saw a Water Still right next door. Why did DoorDash make me pick up from the location on Georgia Street and then drive to Soncy to pick up the food? Why didn’t they just have me pick up from the Water Still and Jimmy’s Egg right next door?

That would have made a lot more sense. I mean, I would have had both orders freshly picked up and on to the customer. Instead, I had to stop at one location a few blocks in the opposite direction from where I was and then drive to Soncy…
