Grand Isle’s oyster industry

saw one of its busiest years since the early 1980s, the Jefferson Parish Economic Development Commission (JEDCO) recently said. In April, a number of off-bed oyster farmers around Grand Isle joined a new, cooperative branding campaign called Grand Isle Jewels, which has helped promote their products further across the Gulf and East coasts and internationally. New aquafarming practices also helped the local industry grow in 2025, JEDCO said.

EPIC-NOLA,

or Early Psychosis Intervention Clinic New Orleans, recently raised close to $50,000 during its annual In My Mind benefit event. The funds will be used to support the clinic’s early psychosis intervention services. The event, which also celebrated EPIC-NOLA’s 10th anniversary, was attended by more than 200 people.
