Man Arrested After Reckless ATV Crash Seriously Injures Child in Splendora

Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded to an ATV crash late Wednesday night that left an 8-year-old child seriously injured and resulted in felony charges against the driver.

On December 18, 2025, at approximately 10:30 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 14000 block of Cedarwood Oaks Road in Splendora. When they arrived, investigators determined the crash was caused by the reckless driving of 32-year-old Hunter Hudson.

According to witnesses in the neighborhood, Hudson had been seen operating the ATV in a dangerous manner with a child passenger prior to the crash. The 8-year-old child sustained severe injuries and was initially transported to a local hospital. Due to the seriousness of those injuries, the child was later airlifted by helicopter to a Houston hospital for advanced medical care. The child is currently listed in stable condition…
