A week of active weather across the region arrives Sunday thanks to an atmospheric river bringing very windy conditions, rain and high elevation snow. This active weather pattern will remain in place through the end of the week, with several storm waves on the way.
The wind machine is back across the area for Sunday. The Greater Reno Area is under an official High Wind Warning as of 4 AM that will last until Monday at 4 AM. Winds are expected to be sustained between 25 and 35 mph, with gusts ranging from 50 to 60 mph. These are very dangerous wind conditions. Wind prone areas, including Washoe Valley, could see wind gusts much higher. The Greater Lake Tahoe area is under a Wind Advisory, with wind gusts peaking between 45 and 50 mph.
