Firefighters battle blaze in empty Bloomingdale house, no one hurt

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — Firefighters tackled a blaze in a vacant home on Fort Wayne’s northeast side Sunday night.

Crews from the Fort Wayne Fire Department arrived at 621 Florence Avenue around 8:27 p.m. after reports of smoke near State Boulevard and Hensch Street. They discovered smoke coming from the two-story residence.

Firefighters quickly entered the home, searching for any occupants. The building was confirmed to be vacant, and no injuries occurred. The fire in an upstairs bedroom was under control by 8:55 p.m…
