Burlington man charged in road rage shooting, mother accused of keeping gun after the fact

ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. — Editor’s note: Alamance County Sheriff’s Office clarified Massey took the victim’s keys but did not steal the vehicle. Investigators said he got back in the car he was riding in as a passenger and took off.

An Alamance County man and his mother are both facing felony charges following a road rage-related shooting that investigators say began with a minor traffic collision and ended with a gun fired into a vehicle and evidence allegedly being concealed afterward.

Deputies say Lindsay Lee Massey Jr., 26, of Burlington, is charged with shooting into a vehicle and taking the victim’s car keys at gunpoint during the Dec. 15 incident on N.C. Highway 49 near McCray Road. His mother, Nina Snipes Womack, 43, of Graham, is charged with helping hide evidence after the fact…
