MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — A Mobile County Sheriff’s Office Facebook post is warning residents about skimmers at local businesses taking customers’ numbers.

“While finishing up your last minute Christmas shopping, please take extra precautions when checking out,” the post said, noting they and the City of Mobile have received numerous complaints of skimmers being found on debit and credit card machines around the county.
MCSO says to take a close look at the machine before using it, and not to put your card anywhere near the device if anything looks off. Anything that looks suspicious should be reported to the business.
Businesses that find skimmers should call the MCSO at 251-574-8633.
