(KRON) — A stranded motorist was rescued from a flooded roadway in Santa Rosa, the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office announced Monday morning.
The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Marine Unit responded to Slusser and River roads after the driver drove their car into floodwaters, authorities said. Caught in the rising water, the motorist climbed onto the roof of their car to escape from the flooding.
The Marine Unit safely evacuated the driver and they were examined by Sonoma County Fire District personnel.
The Sonoma County Department of Emergency Management announced three road closures in effect Monday:
- Slusser Road at River Road in Windsor
- Green Valley Road near Sullivan Road in Sebastopol
- Mark West Station Road near Starr Road in Windsor
