Fort Lauderdale Bomb Squad Responds to Two Related Suspicious Package Alarms and Finds No Threat

Fort Lauderdale became the focus of a police investigation this past Saturday after two reports of suspicious packages. The first call came just before 11 a.m. from the 1900 block of Cordova Road, followed by a second alert at 12:04 p.m. from the 1700 block of S. Andrews Avenue, according to Local 10 News.

The first incident prompted the Fort Lauderdale Police Department’s Bomb Squad to respond, but no threat was found upon examining the package. Officers were later directed to a second parcel nearby, according to NBC Miami. Bomb Squad specialists remained at both scenes, conducting thorough assessments.

During the events, a TJ Maxx near the local Publix at Cordova and 17th Street was cordoned off. The grocery store, however, remained open and unaffected by the police activity, according to Local 10 News…
