Norwalk Schools Approve New Pre-Employment Screening Vendor

Norwalk Community Schools has approved a new pre-employment screening vendor; a change district leaders say strengthens background checks for prospective employees and aligns with evolving state expectations.

Norwalk schools superintendent Shawn Holloway tells KNIA News the updated screening process expands beyond Iowa and adds additional verification safeguards.

“This new screening that we’ll use falls in line with that, has the immigration status as part of the background check. But then I think, really, the piece that impacts us the most is it also goes out and looks in other states. So, if person A has lived in Texas, California, and Minnesota, and then they come here to teach, this background check will check all of those other states as well.”…
