CENTRAL OAHU, Hawaii (Island News) — Following a power outage in Central Oahu on Saturday morning that impacted thousands of Hawaiian Electric customers, power has been restored to some of its customers.
The power outage began after 8 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20, for nearly 2,000 customers which grew to about 3,430 customers in the Waiau/Waimalu/Pearl City area by 10 a.m.
Hawaiian Electric crews are working to safely complete repairs before restoring power. An estimated 1,290 customers are still without power as of 2:30 p.m. and some customers have had their power restored…
