Does Cuyahoga County owe you money? New website helps residents search unclaimed funds

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Did you leave money behind in a jail commissary account after being released? Are you owed cash from an old court case, a forfeited land sale or family inheritance that you forgot about? Could a few cents — or a few thousand dollars — be sitting in county records under your name?

A new website is designed to help Cuyahoga County residents find out: cuyahogacounty.gov/unclaimed-funds/

The county Treasurer’s Office has launched a webpage to make it easier for residents to search for any unclaimed funds that were left behind or forgotten and are being held by the county’s clerk of court, probate court, sheriff’s office or other entity, and learn what they need to do to reclaim them…
