Man sentenced for robbing Bakersfield restaurants, liquor store

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A man who robbed restaurants and a liquor store over a four-day span, twice pulling a gun on cashiers, was sentenced Monday.

Jorge Miguel Calderon received 30 years and four months in prison, prosecutors said.

“This pattern of robberies represented a clear and growing threat to the community,” District Attorney Cynthia Zimmer said in a release. “I am grateful that Calderon was apprehended before further harm occurred, and I feel relief for our community knowing he will serve a significant sentence that prioritizes public safety.”…
