EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — Last-minute holiday shoppers will have a special opportunity to make their generosity go further on Christmas Eve, as donations to The Salvation Army’s iconic Red Kettles will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $8,000, across Vanderburgh, Warrick and Posey counties.
The one-day matching challenge, made possible by a local donor, will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 24, the final day of the organization’s annual Red Kettle Campaign. All contributions dropped into Red Kettles that day will be doubled, helping the nonprofit reach its fundraising goal before the kettles are packed away for another year.
“Every dollar dropped into the kettle becomes two—doubled in impact, doubled in hope,” said Capt. Brandon Lewis of The Salvation Army of Evansville. “When we give together, we help families regain stability, warmth and dignity. Join the match, lift a neighbor, and show those in need that their community stands with them.”…
