ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, MI — A Vicksburg man was sentenced to prison Thursday, Dec. 18, for a crash that killed a 10-year-old boy who had been riding his bike to school.
Logan Keith Thomas, 30, will serve a minimum of 7 years, 6 months in prison and a maximum of 30 years, according to court records. Thomas pleaded guilty Nov. 24 to operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing death.
The incident occurred on Dec. 2, 2024, on Banker Street in Sherman Township near Sturgis. The victim, Anthony Miller, 10, of Sherman Township, had been riding to school with three other children when Thomas’ 1988 Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck ran into the group of Amish children.
