New details emerge on dog attack outside Collins-Rhodes Elementary School

PRICHARD, Ala. (WALA) -New details have emerged about a dog attack that occurred outside Collins-Rhodes Elementary School last Tuesday.

According to Prichard Animal Resources, one student and one teacher were bitten during the incident. The school had initially informed parents via email that two students and a teacher were injured.

A spokesperson for the City of Prichard said Prichard Animal Resources and Prichard Police responded immediately, but the injured student and teacher had already been taken to the emergency room. The dog’s owner had also removed the animal from the scene. Authorities later contacted the owner and issued a mandatory quarantine notice. While the city initially reported the quarantine would last 72 hours, it has now been confirmed as a ten-day quarantine…
