Tennessee lawmakers consider banning live ammo, firearms in training due to safety worries

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Tennessee lawmakers are considering making changes to enhanced handgun permit training that would ban live firearms and ammunition from classroom sessions.

The Department of Safety put forth the proposed changes after an incident in which a student was accidentally shot in a classroom.
