ANTIOCH, Tenn. (WZTV) — A Metro councilmember says a stronger police presence tied to a new precinct in Southeast Nashville is already making a difference.
Councilmember Joy Styles tells FOX 17 News she has noticed a drop in certain crimes since the Southeast Precinct opened in early November, particularly when it comes to illegal drag racing and large late-night meetups.
The new 24,000-square-foot precinct on Murfreesboro Pike now serves as the home base for dozens of officers responsible for covering a large portion of Southeast Nashville. The facility is located just minutes from what state leaders have described as one of the most dangerous intersections in the city.
