A Union County man has pleaded guilty to stabbing his girlfriend to death in the home they shared in Elizabeth one day after he proposed to her.
Jose Melo, 53, pleaded guilty to first-degree aggravated manslaughter in the death of Naket Jadix Trinidad Maldonado, 31, on Dec. 30, 2024.
