POLK COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — The Florida Department of Transportation expects air travel over the I-4 corridor between Tampa and Orlando to be fully operational by the end of 2026, according to top officials.
Research and development projects are currently underway at SunTrax in Auburndale, the headquarters for the new experimental technology.

The program is aimed at radically reducing traffic congestion along major highways, according to FDOT.
