SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — A community in the Town of Clay is mourning the loss of a father and his young daughter after a deadly house fire in the Bayberry neighborhood.
Friends say Abaid Noorzai was the kind of man who quietly carried the weight of his family and his community. Early in the morning on Dec. 19, the Afghan father was killed when his home caught fire. His three-year-old daughter, Gabeen, also died.
